How to Find Square Feet of a Rectangle
Square Feet or (Square Foot - plural) is a unit of measurement of
area, expressed in square feet. Here is a simple tutorial with an example to learn how to calculate the square feet of a rectangle.
Formula:
The Square Feet of a rectangle can be
calculated by multiplying the length and breadth of the rectangle.
Square Feet of Rectangle = l x b
Where,
l = Length
b = Breadth
NOTE : The dimensions of the sides are measured in foot.
Step 1: Consider the below example:
Consider a rectangle with dimensions of 20 x 10 foot. Then the length (l) would be 20 foot and breadth (b) would be 10 foot. We are required to
calculate the Square Foot of the rectangle.
Step 2: Applying the Values in the Formula:
Square Feet of Rectangle = 20 x 10
= 200 Sq. Ft.
Hence it is calculated that for a given rectangle of 20 x 10 foot, there are 200 squares of 1 feet each (200 Sq. Ft.) are present.
