# Multiplication Shortcut of Two Digit Numbers

How to do multiplication of two digit numbers using Vedic Maths Shortcut?

## Explanation

Use this Vedic maths shortcut to multiply two digit numbers in an easiest way. Let us take an example 15 x 14 Follow the steps below to learn the shortcut trick for this multiplication.
Step 1: Write down the numbers one below the other
1 5
1 4
Multiply the left side digits, 1 x 1 = 1 Step 2: Multiply the right side digits, 5 x 4 = 20 Step 3: Cross multiply and add the values.
1 9 20 Step 4: If obtained two digit values then do the following.
Take the first digit from the right most value and add it with the preceding one.
1 (9 + 2) 0
1 11 0 Step 5:
Take the first digit of the center value and add it with the preceding one.
(1+1) 10
2 1 0
So the result is, 15 x 14 = 210. Lets us solve another example using this shortcut.
Example 1: 28 x 36
Step 1:
2 8
3 6
Do vertical multiplication, 2 x 3 = 6, 8 x 6 = 48
Step 2: Do cross multiplication and add the values.
2 x 6 = 12, 8 x 3 = 24
12 + 24 = 36
Step 3: Write down the resultant values of Step1 and Step2 as below
6 36 48
As the result is two digit numbers, take the first digit from the right most value and add with the previous one.
6, (36 + 4), 8 = 6 , 40 , 8
Step 4: Again the result is a two digit number. So, repeat the same procedure given in step3.
(6+4), 0, 8 = 10 , 0 ,8
So the result is, 28 x 36 = 1008
