Nilagang Baboy Recipe

Nilaga is a simple soup dish best served during rainy and cold weather. It is also sometimes called as Nilagang Baboy Recipe. The dish is prepared using Beef or Pork. This is a short cooking tutorial that tells you how to cook Nilaga in simple steps.
How To Cook Nilaga
Nilagang Baboy Recipe:
Ingredients Required:

  • 1 kg beef brisket or pork, cubed
  • 1 big potato, cubed
  • 1 bok choy or pechay
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 medium sized carrots, chopped crosswise
  • 1 tbsp whole pepper corn
  • 3 tbsp fish sauce

How to Cook Nilaga?
Step 1: Saute the onion until it becomes soft
Step 2: Add-in the beef brisket or pork and cook for about 5 minutes
Step 3: Add the fish sauce and whole pepper corn then mix well
Step 4: Pour-in the water and bring to a boil.
Step 5: Simmer for 1 to 2 hours (If using pressure cooker, 30 minutes.)
Step 6: Put-in the vegetables starting with the potato and the carrots. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes
Step 7: Add the bok choy and cover the pot and turn off the heat. Let it stay for 5 minutes.
