Step 1: Example
Lets consider an example where the power imparted on the water by the pump is given as 12 Horse Power, and the power supplied to drive the pump is given as 15 Horse Power, then to calculate the pump efficiency, use the above formula.

Lets assign the values as below to calculate the centrifugal pump efficiency.
WHP (Water Horse Power) = 12
BHP (Brake Horse Power) = 15

n = 12/15=0.8
To express in percentage multiply by 100.
