Short tutorial that explains you on How to Convert Fraction to Decimal Number with simple step-by-step procedure.
Steps To Convert Fraction To Decimal Number
→ Multiply a number by the bottom of the fraction to make it 10 or 100 or 1000 or any one followed by 0s.
→ With that number multiply both top and bottom.
→ Put a decimal point in the top number, one space
from the right hand side for every zero in the bottom number.
Step 1: Let us consider the example.
Convert 4/5 to a decimal number.
Step 2: Multiply 5 by 20 to become 100.
Step 3: Multiply top number 4 and bottom number 5 by 20.
= 4x20 / 5x20
= 80 / 100
Step 4: Put a decimal point in the top number 80, two space
from the right hand side.
= 0.80
NOTE : There is no way to multiply some numbers (Eg : 3) to become 10 or 100 or anyone followed by 0s,so we can convert an approximate decimal number by choosing
to multiply by (Eg : 3 x 333 = 999).
