How do you calculate EDD (Estimated Date of Delivery)?
EDD is a term referred in calculating the due date of the pregnancy. EED is called as Estimated date of delivery. Naegele's rule is generally used in estimating the due date.
It is calculated using the following format,
EDD = (+ 1 Year - 3 months + 7days) from LMP(Last menstrual Period)
The due date will be exactly 280 days (40 weeks) from the last menstrual period.
Steps for Estimated Date of Delivery Calculation
Step 1: Lets consider an example,
Assume, Last date of menstrual period is 23 Oct 2015
Step 2: From the formula,
LMP = 23 Oct 2015
+ 1 Year = 23 Oct 2016
- 3 Months = 23 July 2016
+ 6 Days = 29 July 2016
Due date of Pregnancy is 29 July 2016
