How to compute Cubic Meters (CBM)?
CBM stands for "Cubic Meter or Cubic Metre". It is a most common metric unit for measuring volume. Here is a simple step by step tutorial to calculate the cubic meters.
Cubic Meters = Length x Width x Height
Step 1: Find the CBM (cubic metres) of a carton with a length of 20 cm, a width of 30 cm, and a height of 50 cm.
Let us consider the values given in the example,
Length = 20 cm
Width = 30 cm
Height = 50 cm
Step 2: If you have measurement in Centimeter (cm), you need to convert it into Meter. So, you need to divide the values by 100 to get the values in Meter.
Length = 20 cm = 20/100 = 0.2 m
Width = 30 cm = 30/100 = 0.3 m
Height = 50 cm = 50/100 = 0.5 m
Step 3: Substitute the values in the formula,
CBM = 0.2 x 0.3 x 0.5 = 0.03
The cubic meters (CBM) of carton is 0.03m
Hence, the CBM of carton is 0.03 m
