How do you calculate cubic meters (cbm)?
CBM - Stands for Cubic Meters. The unit is used to calculate cubic meters when shipping goods. Determining cubic metres (CBM) is the first step you should take in determining
how to ship your cargo. Let us learn here how to calculate CBM - cubic meters.
Formula:
Length (in meter) X Width (in meter) X Height (in meter) = Cubic meter (m3)
Example:
Let us consider that 1 carton of height 30 cm, width 40 cm and length 50 cm.
Given:
Height = 30 cm
Width = 40 cm
Length = 50 cm
To Find:
CBM - Cubic Meters
Step 1: Convert given values from centimeters to meter
Height 30 cm = 30/100 = 0.30 m
Width 40 cm = 40/100 = 0.40 m
Length 50 cm = 50/100 = 0.50 m
Step 2: Applying the values in the formula
CBM = L x W x H
CBM = 0.50 X 0.40 X 0.30
CBM =
0.06 CBM
So now your 1 Carton is
equal to 0.06 CBM.
