For Female, the amount of calories lost can be calculated using the formula,
Formula for Calculating BMR for Female :
BMR for Women = 655 + (9.6 x Weight in Kgs) + (1.8 x Height in cms) - (4.7 x Age in Years)
Step 1: Consider a 25 years old woman weighing 50 kilograms and 155 cm high.
Age = 25 years
Weight = 50 kilograms
Height = 155 centimeters
Step 2: Substitute the given values in the formula,
BMR for Female = 655 + (9.6 x 50) + (1.8 x 155) - (4.7 x 25)
= 655 + 480 + 279 - 117.5
= 1296.5 kilocalories / day
So, the Basal metabolic rate of 25 years female weighing 50 kgs is 1296.5 kcal / day.
