When referring a secondary sources to create a web content then its important to cite the references and sources as its a sign of quality. The Google Quality Guidelines states that its significant to keep an eye out for sources used at certain pages while reviewing the content, "This is a topic where expertise and/or authoritative sources are important"¦". But Google denies this factor and states that linking to a quality sources wont give any SEO advantage.
