Dwell Time is the length of time that a user spent on a webpage without moving back to the SERPs or any other page. Google consider it as an important ranking factor, as when the user stays for a long time in your webpage, it means the user has consumed a lot of data, while the short time spent on a site signifies a weak relevancy signal. This is otherwise called as "long clicks vs short clicks".
