What is the importance of Domain Expiry Date in SEO factor?
A Google patent "Information Retrieval Based on Historical Data" published on Mar 18, 2008 states:
"Valuable (legitimate) domains are often paid for several years in advance, while doorway (illegitimate) domains rarely are used for more than a year. Therefore, the date when a domain expires in the future can be used as a factor in predicting the legitimacy of a domain".
It is well known that older websites can actually get higher ranks in the search results. But Google also calculates domain"™s expiration date as an important factor in ranking a website. From the current date, valuable domain can be paid many years in advance and its an important ranking factor.
