How to merge cells in Google Docs Spreadsheet?
In google docs spreadsheet, two or more cells can be merged or joined into a single cell using merge options. To merge the cells, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Select the cells and choose Merge cells icon in the toolbar.
Step 2: A popup window openups stating that, "Merging cells will only preserve the top-leftmost value. Merge anyway?". Press "OK" to proceed or Cancel to cancel the operation.
Step 3: Choose any of the merge options.
Step 4: Press "OK" to proceed or Cancel the operation.
Merge Horizontally: To merge the horizontal selection of cells, click Merge cells icon and select Merge Horizontally.
Merge Vertically: To merge the vertical selection of cells, click Merge cells icon and select Merge Vertically.
