What is an CNAME Record?
CNAME stands for Canonical Name. CNAME records can be used to specify that a domain name is an alias for another domain name.

For example if you want www.example.com to point to example.com, then you could make a change in the CNAME record.

In this short tutorial, we will discuss on how to change CNAME record for a domain name using Cpanel.

Step 1:
Login to your Cpanel Account.
Login To Cpanel
Step 2: Search for DNS and click on the DNS advanced zone editor.

Step 3: Select the domain name for which you wish to change the A record.
Select Domain To Change A Record
Step 4: Go to the domain name from the list of zone file records and click on Edit.

Step 5: Enter the domain name for which you like to point your domain or subdomain name and click on Edit Record. You have now successfully changed your CNAME Record.

Step 6: To add new CNAME record. Select the type of record to Change, here it is CNAME, enter your domain name, TTL (Time in seconds) and IP address or domain name in the required fields below the Add a Record and tap Add button.
